Mandala Pooja performed at sabarimala

Mandala Pooja, the major ritual ceremony of the pilgrim season, was performed in Sabarimala on Tuesday afternoon.


The ritual marked the end of 41 days of vrutha observed by the pilgrims to visit Sabarimala.


Prior to pooja, there were Kalabhabhshekam and Havis at Sannidhanam announcing the Mandala Pooja.


Tantri and Melsanthi led the procession around the Sanctum Sanctorum as part of the pooja.


The shrine was closed after Mandala Pooja. Later, the it was opened for evening poojas and was closed again after Harivarasanam. The temple will remain closed till Friday evening.


Temple will be reopened on Friday for Makaravilakku Festival, observed on January 15 and will remain open till January 21.


Devaswom Board Officials, led by president and police officers, led by special officer were also present during Mandala Pooja.
