KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on Thursday directed the state electricity board to appoint senior officials at Sabarimala to ensure uninterrupted power supply in view of the commencement of two month-long pilgrimage season.
A division bench comprising justices Thothathil B Radhakrishnan and CT Ravikumar issued the order in this regard in the wake of yesterday's power failure at Sabarimala where the Lord Ayyappa shrine is located.
The bench said frequent power failure will affect pilgrims and the manufacturing unit making 'aravana prasadam' (a delicacy).
The court directed the Kerala State Electricity Board ( KSEB) to inform its views to the court on the matter by November 19.
