Holy Thanka Anki procession starts on Dec 23












































The Thanka Anki procession which carries the holy ornaments of Lord Ayyappa will start on Friday (December 23) from Aranmula.


Thanka Anki, the ornaments for Lord Ayyappa which were gifted by the Travancore Maharaja will be carried in a decorated chariot from the Aranmula Parthasarathy temple at 7 am.


Prior to the procession, the holy ornaments will be displayed to the devotees at the temple premises from 5 am. The procession will reach the Nedumbrayar Thevalasery Devi temple where the processionists will have breakfast.


Lunch is arranged at Ilathoor Naryanamangalam temple. The procession will halt at Omalloor Sree Raktha Kandaswami temple for rest at night. It will reach the Pathanamthita Sastha temple at noon. The second day halt is arranged at Konni Muringa Mangalam temple.


The procession, on its third day will halt at Perunad temple. The final day journey through Laha, Plapally, Nilakkal, Chalakkayam will see the procession reach Pamba at noon.


On 26 evening, the procession will reach Sabarimala for ritual pooja.
